Illustration is a very new field of work for me, and mostly consists of small sketches to complement a feature or another graphic piece. Some of my more difficult photo edits could be considered illustration (to the degree that areas of the photo must be digitally “painted” to achieve the desired effect.
I’ve used digital illustration as a basis for a magazine cover. I’ve also produced a set of basic regional maps as part of an ongoing project. My recent work in illustration, however, has involved a very rough toon style meant to serve as a replacement for (or augmentation of) otherwise flat stock photography.
